The best cyclists in the world have just completed the Tour de France in Paris.
They competed for 21 days, putting more than 3400 kilometers behind them.
Everyone in Slovenia crossed their fingers for Tadej Pogačar, who is considered the best cyclist in the world.
The barely 24-year-old wolf from Klanec pri Komendi fought to the last atom of strength. The whole time he was breathing down the neck of his Danish rival, who was nicknamed the fisherman, but in the end Pogačar had to admit defeat.
Nevertheless, the Slovenian hero left his mark in our hearts because even on the day when he would have preferred to get off the bike, he did not give up. He drove stubbornly to the finish line, fought to the best of his ability, and ended up taking a remarkable second place.
Especially with the second victory – he showed his true character by achieving it only a few days after a painful defeat on the most difficult stage.
“I felt like a child on a bike, I was so happy,” Pogi described.
It wasn’t just Vingegaard and Pogačar who shined in the race across France – everyone who reached the finish line deserves praise.
Luka Mezgec, who was in an assistant role, also successfully crossed the finish line in Paris after three weeks.
Points to Consider
- Do you know when Pogačar celebrated his victories in the Tour de France?
- Do you follow other cycling races?
- Have you been to Paris?
