Do you know of a slightly chubby, orange cat who likes being lazy and loves Italian lasagna?
Of course – it’s Garfield! He lives in a small house in New York with Jon, his owner, and Odie, his dog.

He is in love with the cat Arlene, adores his teddy bear Pooky, and constantly competes with Odie for their owner’s attention.
Being a bit overweight, he is often annoyed by being on a diet.
He hates Mondays and prefers lounging on a sunny windowsill.
The most famous cat in the world has been impressing audiences in the cinema for some time now – namely in a new animated adventure simply titled, The Garfield Movie.
This time the cute kitten unexpectedly meets his long-lost father, the disheveled street cat Vic.
With his friend Odie, they are forced to leave their comfy lives in New York and join Vic in a risky heist.
There is no lack of laughter or danger.
A computer game will be created this year based on the movie!
Garfield’s adventures were first shared in the comics.
Back in 1978 Jim Davis, a cartoonist, created Garfield.

But the comic quickly became extremely popular and was followed by TV shows, which were awarded an Emmy.
In 1988 the animated television series Garfield and Friends was also created.
He later appeared on the big screen.
In 2004 in Garfield: The Movie and again in 2006 in another movie, Garfield: A Tail of Two Kitties.
This year Garfield will celebrate his 46th birthday!
But he remains true to himself – he is still sleepy, hungry, and slightly reluctant. And that’s exactly what readers and viewers around the world love.
Points to Consider
- Have you seen any of the Garfield movies?
