Fans have been wondering all week what the winning song of this year’s Eurovision will be.
After a tense vote, the winner was Austrian opera singer JJ with the song Wasted Love.
He convinced the jury and audience with his stunning voice.

The competition was held in Basel, Switzerland, where the Eurovision Song Contest was first held in 1956.
This is thanks to last year’s winner, Nemo, who also opened the final evening with the winning song, The Code.
The competition was again held in three parts.
The Slovenian representative, Klemen Slakonja, also appeared in Tuesday’s first semi-final.
He did not make it to the finals with the song How Much Time Do We Have Left and did not hide his disappointment after the performance.
On one hand, I’m disappointed, but on the other hand, I realize that the entire team and I gave it our all.

The second semi-final night featured the performance of the Israeli representative – many opposed Israel’s participation due to the war in Gaza.
Despite this, the musician made it to the finals, where she received the most votes in the telephone vote and took second place.
There were 26 songs in the final.
Surprisingly, Croatia and Serbia did not make it this year, nor did Australia, which has been participating in Eurovision since 2015.
The final evening had a special treat.
The Croatian representative, Baby Lasagna, who came in second place last year, and the Finnish rapper, Käärijä, also a runner-up in 2023, performed together on stage.
Eurovision is not only about music.
Most performances this year included interesting clothing – costumes, rather – and incredible stage lighting effects.
Points to Consider
- Which song did you like the most?
- In your opinion, should your country’s representative have made it to the finals?
- Do you think it’s right that Israel participates in the Eurovision Song Contest?
